In response to the water crisis in Mexico City, I investigated the
impact that the lack of access to water has on menstrual hygiene,
a natural and recurring process that directly affects the dignity,
health, and well-being of menstruating people. Social research was
necessary to gather information and testimonies that shed light on
this issue.
I subsequently transformed the findings into a visual proposal that
included a branding system that conveyed the importance of the issue
in a sensitive and powerful way, an editorial design that presented
the findings in an accessible way, and an immersive "embodying"
experience based on real testimonies from menstruating people,
generating empathy and reflection in the public.
The research culminated in an exhibition that sensitized the public,
raising awareness about the relationship between menstrual justice
and access to water, through an empathetic and participatory approach.
